Hello. I’m Chris.
I live with severe depression and in September of 2014 I unsuccessfully hanged myself – my friends saved me.
I’m also a history/geography nut.
I’ve seen some pretty interesting locations showing up in the stats portion of surviving the specter, and am interested to know where visitors are viewing from. If you would kindly let me know where you are from and what drew you to the site, I would appreciate your thoughts.
Please feel free to include any other comments or even ideas for future posts.
If you’re interested in being a guest blogger, check out the guest blogging tab and email me your work – I’d love to read what you have.
As always, thank you for taking your time to help with this project and may you find peace through your valley, my friend.

I’m from the UK and I can’t remember what brought me here. I guess I was looking for inspiration and to try and understand my own situation better through the thoughts of others (and your blog is very helpful in that respect).
Also I’ve nominated you for the Sunshine Bloggers Award, it’s optional to post about it, but I wanted to celebrate the best blogs I’m currently reading. I’ve written about it here: https://invokedelight.wordpress.com/2015/07/20/sunshine-blogger-award/

Thank you for taking the time to comment, Jasmine’, as well as for the very kind and thoughtful words you wrote. I am SO very glad you were able to take some things away from my blog, and possibly share with others. It is so nice to hear that you found something hear and again, I am humbled by your words and graciousness. Thank you, dear friend X
Now, as far as your nomination, THANK YOU, and I accept! Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on future posts.

I live in New Hampshire and have just begun blogging about my journey and some of my own struggles. It is great to find people out there like you who are finding healing through their writing, as I am.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, amy’. Glad you found your way to blogging. It helps me to synthesize and process all that I’ve been through, as well as pass it on to others who may feel alone. It’s been very rewarding. Thank you for joining me on my journey. X

Thank you for your caring thoughts, Memee. You are so welcome here and I am so glad that you are able to TAKE AWAY from what I’ve written. Please spread to others who may be pushing forward through their own valleys with little hope that it will get better. I am happy you are here to share the journey with me, my friend. X

Hello, my dear! What a great question!
I’m from Pennsylvania, (the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area) – around 3 hours from NYC and 2 from Philly. Unfortunately, my area continues to own up to the awful reputation it’s received over the past few years due to our devastatingly high increase in crime. We used to be afraid to travel to Philly. Now I think they’re afraid to travel here. It’s a real shame, but I’m hopeful that we’ll soon see some positive changes. And, thankfully, I live in a fairly safe area (for now, at least).
I first stumbled upon your blog by completing a mental health search. At that time, however, I was in a rush and didn’t have a chance to give it a good look. But, to my surprise, I came across it once again while leaving a comment on our buddy Dan’s blog. And as you know, I’ll be forever grateful for that, my friend. 🙂

Hi, I go by Cinnia and I hail from Philly. I’m pretty sure I found your blog after searching WP for mental health-focused blogs. I’m glad I did and I’m especially glad you are a survivor and so open about your own journey. It’s truly admirable.

Hey Chris! Greetings from Brunei Darussalam (a small country in the heart of borneo). I was inspired about your honesty on your blog. Not many people were able to come out of the shadows and admit their deepest, darkest secrets.
But having good company and surround yourself with family and friends can help brighten up your day no matter how gloomy the weather is.
Thanks for sharing your post. And this is my first time hearing about a guest blogger. Hihi. But would love to hear from the other guests bloggers on their inspirations, motivations and what keeps them up and going each and every day.
Keep positive thoughts and lock up negative thoughts and energy. Throw away the key so that the shadows will not haunt you :p
Cheers! And have a smashing day. Oeh yes, don’t forget to visit our blog toos at http://www.21stcenturysarah.com

I know I have mentioned it many times. I know one I can put here. It is a letter to my children and doesn’t go into detail on the suicide, but I did mention it on there and the results on my children. I am glad we are friends too. Let me find that post. https://tessacandoit.wordpress.com/2015/07/09/blogging-101-day-four-identify-your-audience/

Ya know…I’m not even sure how how I found your blog dude. I don’t generally interact with people so it had to have been because you left a comment on mine or I saw you comment on one of my fellow volatile femmes pages…
No matter how. Just glad we connected! You’re awesome, my friend.

Hi Chris! My name is Terri and I am in Sacramento, CA. I came across your blog when I typed in the tag codependent or codependency in the WP Reader. Your story touched my heart as I was on the verge of suicide at one time in my life. Thank you for sharing not only your struggles, but your hope and the encouragement you give to others! Blessings!
