Hello there! Thank you for your interest in guest blogging for Surviving the Specter. I am always looking to share posts from fellow bloggers and love helping to connect our community. Please be considerate of other followers and read my “About” page first so you can decide if this site is the best forum for your post. Surviving the Specter itself focuses on depression and surviving suicide but supports talk of all mental conditions (aka “illnesses”). Once you have decided, please complete the list below and submit it to with “Guest Blog” in the subject line. Thank you for your interest and have fun! I’m looking forward to sharing your story, my friend.

  1. How long have you been blogging?

  2. What is the focus/theme of your blog?

  3. Is there a particular time that you write/post?

  4. Where do you get the inspiration/ideas for your blog posts?

  5. From your experience, what three pieces of insight/wisdom can you give to new/growing bloggers?

On mental health-

  1. What mental conditions (“illnesses”) do you survive with? E.g., Depression? PTSD? Anxiety? Self-harm?

  2. For each condition, what is at least one coping mechanism you have found to be successful? Please feel free to mention/describe more than one. It will only help our community.

  3. Do you have a personal story you would like to tell? One of success? One of growth? A story that tells about your rough stuff?

  4. From your experience, what three pieces of insight/wisdom can you give to others surviving with mental illness?

    Hi Amber. I JUST saw this for some reason and am SOsososo sorry it took so long to respond to you. If you would like to share your story as a guest blog, you can do so in a Word document and send it via email. I will do all the formatting and post it for you.     I can’t guest blog, but can you for me? I write ‘’ and a monthly column of the same name in Ohio. I would appreciate your help. Period. I have lost a cousin to suicide. I write for families. My goal is to help.
