Thought Someone, Right Now, Needed to Hear This

“To the world you may be one person.

“But to one person you may be the world.”

I remember when I’ve been in the throws of my Specter, and consumed with such hopelessness and misery I believed no one else endured. That depression demon who is currently being held at bay in his cage of Lexapro and Abilify, but can attack at random times with a sucker punch to the kidney, leaving me without the breath for life. It’s at those times that one person can change your life. They are there. You just have to find them, reach out to them, and hold onto them. They will be there. You mean the world to them.

If you’re wearing the other pair of shoes and know of someone who needs to be reached out to. Use this post as an excuse to do so. You may save someone’s life.

You Would Be Missed

PLEASE share this with others who need to hear it. Thank you, friends.

People would be devastated and miss you if you didn’t show up in their life tomorrow.

Robin Williams on Depression | [QUOTE]

I’ve noticed this post gets hits everyday so I thought it’d be worthwhile to repost it.

“I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless and they don’t want anyone else to feel like that.”

Relationship Problems | [QUOTE]

Yup. I’m guilty.

Many relationship problems

come from one of these two errors:

being loving without truth and limits,

or being truthful without being loving.

Perseverance | [QUOTE]

Image showing lady throwing ashes into the sea with quote saying,

Spreading his ashes.

About a month ago, my girlfriend spread the ashes of a dear childhood friend into the sea…

Shortly after that we got into an argument…

Hours after that she left the above quote on my desk…

…I am blessed by her continued thoughtfulness and selflessness.

“The force of the waves

is in their perseverance.”

Sunday Thoughts. [QUOTE]

I like quips and quotes.

…those little one-liners that speak volumes in my life.

I heard this one on K-Love and it struck me to the core.

I wanted to share it with my friends, in the hopes that someone feels moved in some way, and in their own life.

What It’s Like to Fight The Demons [QUOTE]

We know what it’s like to live with demons.

They will not prevail.

Because WE have COMMUNITY here!

Lyrics from the song,

“Until it Sleeps”, Metallica

Where do I take this pain of mine?
I run, but it stays right by my side
So tear me open, pour me out
There’s things inside that scream and shout
And the pain still hates me
So hold me until it sleeps

-“Until it Sleeps”, Metallica

3 Days, 3 Quotes Challenge | Day 3

Thank you to Dan for nominating me for this challenge and pushing me to become a better blogger. Please check out his site and the challenge at –

Roaring lion with Bible scripture, There is a story behind this quote. And it’s found in the halls of the Virginia Beach Juvenile/Domestic courthouse.

Courage. I was afraid at how the events would unfold.

Strength. I was weak of heart.

Having to stand in front of a judge for false accusations regarding visitation issues with my daughter.

I got up slowly that day. Cautiously. And sat down at my kitchen table to spend my Quiet Time in my devotionals. This time always has a calming effect on me and helps me to reorient my compass no matter the situation.

Today was no exception.

So I prayed and said, “Lord, let your will be done.” That was it. That’s all it took.

The devotional for that day was focused around this verse. For the rest of the day I was calmly assured that things would work out. I didn’t know how. But they did.

Dan asked that I nominate three other bloggers for this challenge. There are several more than that whom I know you will be blessed to hear what they have to say, and I cannot just limit it to three.

♦  Each of you will nominate three others who will do the same to repeat the process.

♦  You will have three days to post three quotes.

♦  Dan told a story behind each of his quotes. And I used visuals for mine with a short blurb behind it. The format is up to you.

Have fun!

Here are my nominations-

3 Days, 3 Quotes Challenge | Day 2

Thank you to Dan for nominating me for this challenge and pushing me to become a better blogger. Please check out his site and the challenge at –

This quote is the mantra of Surviving the Specter.

It was born from a thought I had while I was in the psychiatric institute after I hanged myself. It has been a long road, but after years of work, I’ve been able to give myself grace.

This quote has allowed me to learn to take it easier on myself.

I hope you are able to use it in your own life.
