I do honestly believe…

…you’ll do whatever it takes to make important relationships work.
…you have to be a friend to get a friend.
…you should be vulnerable with the ones you love – no walls allowed.
…some people feel love with hugs; some with a sticky note hanging from the bathroom mirror; some by folding all the laundry and putting it away (exactly how they like it); some by listening to their hard day with two ears. Learn their love language, everyone has one or more.
…humility is a sign of love, not weakness. Serve them.
…selflessness is a sign of love. Do for them knowing you’re not getting anything in return.
…in reassuring them of your love and reinforcing that with acts of selfless kindness.
…in understanding and empathy – no one is perfect, we all make mistakes. We’re perfectly imperfect. And that’s perfectly okay.
…in grace – give them the benefit of the doubt.
…in self forgiveness. I stumble and miss the bar on these. They are reminders for self accountability.

Sometimes we fall down and pick ourselves or each other back up. Rereading this post renews the mind of the important points blocking the evil from taking over. Not only have I been working on some of these with my kids, but also with my boyfriend and my friends. It’s difficult at times but definitely true to the core.

We were all created with beautiful abilities, the most important being hearing. Listen more, speak less. Love one another with open minds expanding the soul every step of the way.
